One of the most common struggles a small business faces online, is content creation. It’s at the core of a successful Search Engine Marketing plan, but without adequate inspiration or time to scour the internet for ideas, it is often left behind.
Search Engine Marketing isn’t the only aspect that needs the content; Social Media, Blogging and Email Marketing all rely on fresh content to make them engaging and effective.
Spending hours of your day searching the internet for content ideas isn’t something any business wants to do, but we may have found the solution – Feedly.
Feedly is an online platform that allows you to curate your own content feeds around topics that are of interest/ relevance to you. You can sign up for Feedly using your existing Google, Facebook or Twitter account.
Once you’re in, you can add your own feeds from a website or Google alerts using the ‘Add Content’ section. Alternatively, you can browse through the categories and feeds already on Feedly and them to your own stream.
You can choose to ‘Follow’ (+feedly) others that you’d like to incorporate into your feeds and likewise, they can follow you back.
Once you’ve added some content, you will start to see stories and articles filling up your feeds. If you see something you like the look of, you can automatically publish it to your social media by selecting the appropriate icon.
If you see something you like, you can start to adapt it to your own needs. Perhaps you could re-write the article from your own business perspective? Or a response to someone else’s opinion by offering your expert advice? Could it give you inspiration for your own ‘How-to’ article?
Using Feedly to brainstorm your ideas and with the stream of fresh content, you should have plenty of starting points and more motivation to get that ever important fresh content onto your website.
